Tryouts for the 2010/2011 season
Black Hawks Volleyball Club will be hosting tryouts for ages 12 thru 18 for the upcoming 2010 / 2011 Club Volleyball Season. Keep checking back for Opening Date
For the 2009 / 2010 season we will have the following coaches. We are also interviewing additional coaches that may be added as assistants before the start of this season. If interested in coaching please contact our Director / Jim Irwin. Bios and photos will be posted as they become available.

Heather Turck - Head Coach
Bio: Heather Turck is originally from Englewood, CO. She has coached volleyball for over 10 years, 3 years in North Texas. She has coached athletes ranging in age from 9 to 18. She has played competitive sports for most of her life, starting with gymnastics and swimming, she started playing volleyball at age 12. Heather graduated from Cherry Creek High School where she started as an outside hitter on varsity for 2 years. Senior year her team won their first 5A State Championship, they were ranked 12th in the nation. Heather was captain, mvp and named to the all state team. She started for 4 years for Frontrange volleyball club as a setter and outside hitter. Her 16’s team was the top ranked team in CO and finished 5th at nationals. Her 18’s club team went undefeated in their region and finished the year with a silver medal at Nationals. Heather received a full volleyball scholarship to Virginia Tech were she graduated with a BA in Statistics. She started as an outside hitter for 4 years and received all conference honors for 3 years. She was named to the all state team her senior year and was captain andMVP of her team. She finished her college career with the schools and conference record in digs and 2nd all time in career kills for Virginia Tech. During college she helped with high school and college volleyball camps and she coached club ball for 2 years, 15 and under. After moving to North Texas, Heather started coaching at Episcopal School of Dallas as the Junior Varsity Coach. Then she moved up to coach the varsity team for the next two years. While running the volleyball program at ESD she also ran the summer volleyball camps. During that time she coached 17’s and 18’s club team at North Dallas Juniors. After that she took a break to raise her two wonderful girls. She has been volunteer coaching volleyball, basketball and soccer for the past 8 years. In her spare time she loves hanging out with her family and playing volleyball and tennis. My goal as a coach is to help develop young player’s talent and love of the game through basics skills and teamwork.

Chris Finseth Head Coach
Bio: Coach Finseth comes to us with 26 years of playing experience and 10 years coaching volleyball. A long time resident of Hawaii and former college player at the University of Oregon he has relocated to the Dallas area and last season was the head coach of Excel 15’s Red Elite. Chris is a very vibrant coach with a tremendous amount of enthusiasm and love of the sport. He will be looking for players that share in his passion for the game and have the desire to explore their personal best and reach for the next level. If you are going to be in the 16’s division this season or are a very strong, talented 15’s player Chris would like to have the opportunity to work with you.
